Thanks for those  Grin

I can add one for episode three... the road Gene reverses out into from the one way street (after demolishing the cardboard boxes) is Dale Street, which is just behind Piccadilly Gardens right in the centre of Manchester. I think there are other car shots taken round here strewn throughout the series... makes sense as generally they wouldn't set up somewhere like that just for one scene.

Does anyone know the club used in episode four? The interior reminds me a bit of the Ritz on Whitworth Street West but there are so many clubs in Manchester it could be any one of them.

BBC website has it in "Rochdale"
http://www.bbc.co.uk/drama/lifeonmars/yourquestions_locations.shtml
which I need to check out, though that is a bit "off-route"

The club featured in ep4 is the Liquid Rock Night Club,Great George Street,Rochdale, and was used for both the exterior and interior shots.
It currently caters for the younger end of the market as you can see in its website www.liquid-rock.co.uk  The venue was originally a 1950's dance hall known as the Carlton and has kept most of its original features, and was used previously by the BBC for a 60's period drama called "sex, chips, rock & roll"....It therefore did not need much modification to suit the 70's period setting!!

Thanks for the info, guys! It's really interesting! Grin And those photos are great! It's kinda weird to see a modern car parked there after seeing all the 70s cars in LoM!

We took a narrowboat along the Ashton Canal last August, it was very pleasant though it was largely derelict in 1973. This stretch of canal was also in LonM7 (where Annie and Sam get the call to Ray's demotion). Other canal scenes from LonM4 were on the Rochdale and Bridgewater canals nearer the centre of Manchester.

Am currently re-watching 'Sex, chips and rock 'n' roll', great programme Smiley Wonder if there are any other locations duplicated, must remember to look out for the street names.
